School-Wide AVID
For those students preparing for college, AVID School-Wide was considered as an option. This would give needed skills to the students that want to prepare for college, as well as give skills to students who may later decided to enter college or trade school. This would develop the skills of rising to the challenge of rigorous courses students will encounter as they prepare for college or careers. What are your thoughts on this?

I think AVID strategies are great, but this may not have teacher buy-in. We cannot seem to get teachers to attend trainings and the whole staff would need to be trained extensively in order to effectively produce results with this model. --McAlpine
ReplyDeleteAVID would be a great program to be a school wide initiative. However, I do agree with Mrs. McAlpine, that teacher buy in would be the issue.
